Sculpture

Working in clay allows me to see my ideas in three dimensions — a challenge for the artist but also an opportunity to make art that provides rewarding views from several angles. I often add paint and glazes to the form; in many ways my sculptures are an extension of the ideas I explore in painting.

I have also created three-dimensional graphic designs for commercial clients; a combination of the challenges of typography and sculptural form. One assignment provided the opportunity to explore soft sculpture: I had fun designing and creating “Mo” as the original monkey mascot for a client’s “guerilla” campaign.
